The “Building a Culture of Prayer” seminar includes four Modules, and each one includes some teaching time and then putting into practice what has been taught. The Modules include:

Module 1: The “What/Why/When/Where/How” of Prayer

The “What/Why/When/Where/How” of Prayer, introduces the first model of prayer based on how Jesus taught us to pray in the Lord’s Prayer.

This includes an interactive session of “Creatively Praying Through the Lord’s Prayer” through prayer stations, based on Luke 11:1-4.

Module 2: A.C.T.S. (Adoration / Confession / Thanksgiving / Supplication)

Introducing the second model of prayer based on A.C.T.S. (Adoration/Confession/Thanksgiving/Supplication)

– Adoration through worship & prayers of adoration
– Confession through an interactive prayer of confession based on Psalm 23
– Thanksgiving through individual time with God documenting everything you are thankful & grateful to God for.

Supplication praying in triplets for:
– Each Other
– Your Family
– Your Church/Pastor/Leadership

Module 3a: The Prayer Life of a Follower of God

The Prayer Life of a Follower of God. This includes:
Improving your Prayer Life
Finding your Rhythm & Style of Praying
Learning to Listen to God
Fasting
Prayer & Evangelism (praying for not-yet-believers in your family, school & workplace)

This session will include individual time with God.

Module 3b: Let’s Walk Prayer

Prayer Walking (praying for not-yet-believers in your community) using The Lord’s Prayer & Psalm 23

Module 4: Words to Live By

Words to Live By – A Spiritual Discipline. Replacing negative, critical, judgemental thoughts, as well as worries, anxieties, fears & shame, with positive, life-giving, Christ-directed & God-honouring Scriptural truths & learning to pray these aloud daily. This session finishes with Communion.

Format & Options

Each Module is standalone and you can choose what Modules you do. There’s a few different ways this can be done depending on your Church:

Option 1. Sunday morning service

A session is done during your Sunday morning service. This can be 4 weeks in a row, once a month for 4 months etc, whatever works.

Option 2. Sunday two session seminar

Two sessions are done after your Sunday morning service, eg early lunch, Session 1, quick break, Session 2. Following month repeat with Sessions 3 & 4.

Option 3. Saturday full day seminar

On a Saturday with the following timetable:
10 am – 11 am – Session 1
11.00 am – 11.15 am – Morning Tea
11.15 am – 12.15 pm – Session 2
12.15 pm – 12.45 pm – Lunch
12.45 pm – 1.45 pm – Session 3
1.45 pm – 2.00 pm – Coffee break
2.00 pm – 3.00 pm – Session 4

Option 4. Sunday full day seminar

Start your service with a couple of worship songs & announcements. Then move into a full day seminar similar to Option 3 above.

Option 5. Church Camp/Retreat

Friday & Saturday or a Saturday & Sunday.
